| I want to leave an honest review of R&M Automotive, and where do I even begin, well for starters I have never been treated so well as a customer. They are honest, reliable and dependable. Their work is superior to anyone I have ever had to deal with. I am a working girl just getting by from paycheck to paycheck and feel as their prices for the service they provide is more than reasonable. I have no doubt on their expertise of knowledge and skill they bring to their shop. I am always driving away with a smile on my face knowing my car is safe and running in tip top shape when I get it back. They always make time for me and are always here to help me in emergency situations. It's so hard to find a mechanic that you can trust and believe I have found one here. I would never trust my car with anyone else. I trust them so much I sent my kids cars there for service. I had been refered by a friend and have been a happy customer for more than 6 years now and am so grateful. They are tucked back where if you don't know where they are , you just don't know, but you are so missing out. I can't say enough great things about this little gem. | If you have never walked into an establishment, and felt like a customer and end up leaving feeling like family. | I discovered R & M through a Groupon for an oil change. I was in the market for a new mechanic who is trustworthy, efficient, fairly priced, and who explains things in an easy manor. Since my oil change several months ago, I’ve been back for some repairs a few times, that I couldn’t pay for all in the moment. I have received the best care and fast service, along with all that I’m looking for in a mechanic … I’ve found my new place! | I went there on Monday after the car Dealer ship gave me a long invoice of things needed on my car and told me to basically just get a new car. And it wasn’t worth fixing. RM LOOKED AT THE LIST INSPECT MY CAR LET ME KNOW WHAT WAS RECOMMENDED LET ME KNOW WHAT TO GET DONE AFTER THE FIRST REPAIR AND QUOTED ME ON IT. They were very informative communicated well . | Al and his team are top notch! Not only is their pricing fair, but their work is second to none…and fast! Al is great at explaining what is wrong, what is needed and the most cost effective approach. You never have to worry about being taken advantage of or price gouging. | I finally found an honest, professional and low cost mechanic. I have tried four different automotive shops within the past two years and each one of them either tried to overcharge me or give me the wrong diagnoses. I wish I had known about R&M sooner. | I found out about R&M Automotive thru Groupon & it was the best experience!!!! I've had several details done to my car from oil change to replacing my intake manifold! They are very Professional & My Go To Mechanics | I have had so many issues with my jeep and shops lying and keeping my car for days and weeks on end. Not R and M! I came same day and I picked up same day, they charged reasonable labor hours and completed all that was needed to be done and also advised on preventative maintenance. Gem of a mechanic shop. | ||

| Al at R&M is great! He is responsive and very fair with his pricing. He has worked on my son's car several times and always does a great job (diagnosing the issues and fixing it quickly). We have taken the car for some difficult repairs and R&M has always done everything perfect. Great communication, excellent work and fair pricing. The only one to go to in the Newark, DE area! I would not bring my car anywhere else. Thanks Al and the R&M team for always doing outstanding work! | Very honest people, and even gave me recommendations on future work that needs to be done to my car and gave estimates right on my receipt. Charges fairly for an oil change unlike other local business that charge 100$+. Even offered me a student discount because i’m a local UD student! | After trying to figure out the power issue my vehicle was experiencing for over a year, and taking it to my regular mechanic each time to only be told the issue didn’t occur when they had the vehicle so they couldn’t determine where the problem was coming from, I was finally referred to R&M auto by the provider of my vehicle’s extended warranty. I had my vehicle towed to their shop because it kept cutting off on me, and at times not starting back up without a jump, so I was afraid to drive it there myself for fear of it cutting off on me. That was the best thing I could have decided to do because the source of the power issue was identified and fixed in no time. I often feel like the possibility of being overcharged for car repairs is probable but at no time did I feel taken advantage of at all. The mechanics kept me updated on the status of my vehicle findings and were clear about the plan to resolve the problem. I was even given a discount on a portion of the original total for the repairs, which in my opinion was still not too much, for the peace of mind I now have. My vehicle actually runs like a new car now and I will be having my vehicle serviced here from now on. | ||

| A+ service from the initial phone call to pickup. Al was honest and up- front about pricing and time. He explained options and information prior to service. I appreciated the time he took to explain my car's issues. He completed the job in a timely matter. I found a new mechanic. Thanks Al. | I go crazy trying to find a good mechanic that doesn’t rip me off. Many times I find one then he leaves the business. After carefully doing my research, I finally chose R&M Auto. Extremely professional, reasonable, my car runs like new. My search is finally over. | My daughter is a student at UD. She was rear-ended driving back to school Thanksgiving weekend on I-95. The car was drivable, but was making a loud noise. I had her take it in to R & M and Al fixed it (some simple loose part) for a very reasonable price. I cannot thank him enough! If he didn't come to the rescue we would have been forced to leave the car in DE to do the body work and have to drive back over the holidays to retrieve the car. Now it is road worthy and we can handle the body repairs here in NY over the break. Hard to find an honest mechanic out there - but he is. | ||

| I'm glad I found this place they were truly a breath of fresh air. I'm new to Delaware and was looking for an reliable and honest mechanic and was glad when I came across them in my neighborhood. They fixed the problem I went for and told me about other problems I already knew about (didn't try to pressure me to fix them now) and had some fixed a couple of them that day but made an appointment for the rest. They are real affordable and very professional. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a real mechanic that gets the job done fast and affordable. | Gave Al a call @R&M to diagnose a problem, he stated that he would have to check it out @the shop? Told him I would be there shortly! Once I arrived the problem was determined to be a bad "U joint"! Because I dealt with them in he past with some of my other vehicles I said lets look @what days are available for an appointment? As we looked, he made a comment "do you want to do it today"? I said WHAT! Sure! That "U" joint replacement was done the same day I came in for a diagnosis! Price was more then fair and I would recommend them to all! Thanks for their service! | Dont often recommend a mechanic but this is an exception...top of the line in expertise and honesty..love this place | I need brakes done. Everyone there was cool and polite.They got me a caliper and installed it at a discount al with in the day. I was able to make one M if the most important dates of my life! | Positive: Professionalism Al is very professional. | Excellent and fast service. Fellow coworkers raved about their quality of work and great customer service. I needed and appointment asap so I called on Friday and got am appointment for Saturday 9 am. Brake job was done while I waited. Al showed me the old brakes and what needed to be replaced. He also have me a price quote before starting the work. Al is a nice guy with great customer service skills. Would highly recommend him to others. Thank you for a great job!! | I decided to give this place a try after reading so many good reviews on here. I'm glad I did! They were able to diagnose and fix my issue quickly, I was happy to get my car back by 3 pm the same day they started working on it. It's been a few weeks and no further issues. They have my recommendation to anyone looking for a straightforward shop that does the job right without being pushy! | Came in for a oil change and tire rotation. The mechanic pointed out that one of the bolts for my brakes was missing. I ended up replacing the caliper and was out in little over a hour. A cracked serpentine belt and a leaking boot on my drive axle was also pointed out. Great attention to detail and decent prices. | ||

| I would not hesitate for one second to recommend Al and R&M Automotive . He is honest and fair and has always been there immediately for me for any problem I have ever had. He always shows me where and what the problem is so there has never any doubt in my trust in his judgement. His service is fast and complete, his prices are fair and he is accommodating. | I've taken my car twice to R&M and each time I feel like I was given a fair deal. They allow me to drop off my car an evening in advance and call, with the price, before doing any work. It's definitely something I appreciate. Was also given a print out of what needed to be done and, when asked, was told whether it was an urgent priority or not. I'd recommend R&M Automotive to anyone I know | Found my new place for repairs! Been going to the dealerships for over 10 yrs and they couldn't help me find or fix the problem. I been driving a couple yrs with this noise that i thought was coming from the front wheel. R&M took it for a test drive and told me that it wasn't the front but my rear wheel bearing needed to be replace. Bam now the noise is gone! I just want to thanks Al from R&M on taking your time and finding the problem that my dealership couldn't/wouldn't do. | The service was excellent and swift. These guys were professional, courteous, had reasonable prices, and didn’t mind taking the time to answer questions and have a friendly chat. I'd had an oil pressure alarm going off, but my usual garage could not see me for at least 2 weeks. A buddy of mine recommended R&M, so I gave them a shot. They were really receptive, and serviced my car that same day. They delivered a level of work and customer service that far exceeded my old garage. I will definitely be returning to R&M in the future.

I've taken my car in a few times the last few years for oil changes and most recently for mechanical issues.
I gotta say these guys are good people!!! One day last week when I stopped in to set an appointment up to have wheel bearings changed my car wouldn't start up. They came out, took the time to figure out what was wrong and got it running again for me........ NO CHARGE!!! If you want honest, reasonable prices and good customer service bring your vehicle here. On a side note this is my first review I've ever done on a business and a well deserved one at that! |

Excellent Serviceby gotstuck - 05/06/2011 I drive 200 miles a day. I broke down about 100 miles from home, and had no idea where to go to get my car fixed by good, honest mechanics. A coworker from the Wilmington area recommended R&M. These guys were GREAT. My car needed a good deal of work (standard transmission went). Not only did they completely fix the problem, they also repaired a few other minor issues I had (new belts and hoses, oil pump, etc.). My car is important to me, and buying a new one now is not an option. My car runs LIKE NEW -- I'm even getting better gas mileage. Al and Mike kept in touch with me every step of the way through the repairs, and did excellent work at a very fair price. If I lived in the area, they would absolutely get all of my business. I strongly urge anyone who needs ANY kind of car repair done who lives near R&M to let these guys take care of it for you. Their service will blow you away. I still can't believe how much my car seems to be as good as new (and it's a '98!). |

Honest & Dependable!by mytimeistoday - 05/05/2011 Brought my car in for engine problems--hard to start, poor performance; after they inspected my vehicle, it turned out that all i needed a new distributor. Gave me a great price and work was completed within three hours. they also performed--at no expense--a safety check, which showed my brakes would need replacing in three months. I've been a loyal customer ever since. Honest mechanics are hard to come by, but Al & Mike @ R & M stand far above other mechanics I've had in the past. They don't try to sell you jobs that you don't need or over-charge you, either. Now, my kids bring their vehicles to R & M, knowing they will get true, honest and top professional quality service for their cars. I highly recommend them for any repair work you need, be it a simple oil change or a full engine work. |
